If you would like one of Newquay's quieter beaches away from the crowds even at high season Whipsiderry Beach is a beautiful stretch of golden sands and rugged cliffs located on the North coast of Cornwall. It is hidden away down 136 steps in the cliff or at low tide accessible from Porth beach or Watergate Bay. This can make for a very romantic walk starting at either Porth or Watergate Bay and strolling the length of the 3 stunning beaches.

Going to the beach with all your family can make for a fun day out but not cost the earth like some attractions when there are alot of you. All you need is a beach ball, swimming costume and some pre-packed lunch for a cosy family picnic and games on the beach! You need to be aware that there is no lifeguard service on Whipsiderry and unless it is low tide the only way out is up the 136 steps so you may want to pack light!

Trerice is easy to find. It is located at Newquay, Cornwall TR8 4PG, near Benny Halt station and Saint Newlyn East Golf Course. Both are a mile away

How Is The Place?
Trerice is a delightful Elizabethan Manor in which it is considered as the true “Hidden Gem” near Newquay in the Cornish Countryside.
Inside the Trerice is a vast view of antique oak and walnut furniture, clocks and portraits. Aside from that you will marvel with the amazing interiors like fine fireplaces, plaster ceilings and fantasctice needleworks.
The emphasis of the interior is the magnificent chamber with barrel ceiling. The splendid garden has some rare plants and an orchard with vast varieties of fruit trees. There is also a barn in which there is an exhibition of the history of the lawnmower. Visitors are very much welcome to play Kayles (Cornish Skittles) on the parade ground.
The place is open from February 28 to November 2009, daily except Fridays. The House is opem for viewing from 11am- 5pm in which the last admission is 30 minutes before the closing time, whilst the Garden and the Tea Room is open from 10:30am – 5pm.
